Do you drink plenty of water every day, but your skin still feels dry?
A staggering 97% of Australians are dehydrated and you will be surprised to hear that water only contributes a tiny 13% to our hydration levels.
The other 87% of dehydration is caused by a weakened acid mantle. Just quickly (but very importantly) the acid mantle is a very fine, slightly acidic film that prevents moisture loss, provides the PH balance and protects us from any harmful irritants damaging our skin.
When our acid mantle is weakened it causes a cascading effect of skin conditions starting of course with dehydration but left untreated can lead to higher chances of sensitivity and inflammation and much more.
To repair or maintain a healthy acid mantle, we must avoid astringent ingredients to stop the damage. Supplementing with Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) is as the name suggests ESSENTIAL. Particularly Omega 3. We naturally make Omega 6 and 9 but Australians are generally very deficient in 3. Thus making supplementation the best way.
Supplementing with EFA’s together with a great at home and in clinic skin care routine will keep your hydration levels where they need to be and prevent most skin conditions. Not least ageing….as they say “the dehydration line of today is your wrinkle of tomorrow”
