Food – Entertainment or functional?
I have been feeling average lately, not sleeping well, no energy. Granted I have been perimenopausal for 6+ years but this is next level.
Anyhoo, I went to the Dr last week (which I have been putting off for years). When we were discussing my symptoms he asked “do you think they are normal?” I had to think about it for a second…it is the norm but it is not normal. So actually no it’s not normal.
We then started talking about food. BIG (and controversial) topic. There are so many diet/lifestyle options…vegan, vegetarian, keto, paleo, carnivore. How do you know what is best for YOU? What if what we thought was healthy…isn’t?
It got me thinking… Do we eat for entertainment/pleasure or do we eat to NOURISH and fuel our bodies? Most of my social interactions revolve around food/drink. It’s how “our” society does social (ok other than social media).
Does this mean if we are eating a certain way we can’t be social? Does it mean we need to find other ways to be social? If we eat or drink a certain way are we worried about being judged?
